Healthy way to chew…, January 24, 2007
By Dejan Deh “ddeh” (Los Angeles, CA USA)
Being a gum addict, I go through a pack a day. Sugar does a number on your teeth, so I prefer sugar-free… or I did, until I read how many cancer causing ingredients the leading gum brands have. You might as well smoke ;-). That’s where SPRY comes in… made with Xylitol, a natural sugar derivative (and not `natural’ like Splenda) it has a long lasting flavor and good texture. The only problem I ran into is that the consistency degrades after about 30 minutes of chewing.
All in all, for a 30 min gum fix, Spry is #1.

good stuff, February 25, 2006
By Jon Jakoblich (Burnsville, MN USA)
This gum is pretty decent. It loses its flavor after only a few minutes of chewing, but I don’t chew it for the taste. It tastes good, but there are other benefits to chewing this gum and those are more important to me. I generally pop 2 pieces in my mouth after each time I eat and chew for anywhere between 15-45 minutes.
I think it does an excellent job of removing the food from my teeth, especially the deep pits of the molars. It helps to reduce cavities by not allowing the bacteria to munch on the leftover food in your mouth.
I generally have a nice clean feeling in my mouth after chewing. This gum does not replace flossing - I recommend that people still floss, but the dental benefits of this gum are fantastic.
Best of all it’s sweetened with xylitol which won’t cause your bloodsugar to spike and it does not contribute to cavities because of the structure of the xylitol molecules.

Great gum, October 5, 2006
By Kathleen E. Pyne
This is a great flavored gum! My dentist recommended it but I was able to find it on the internet for about four times less! I keep it in the cabinet and even my teenagers chew it. It’s much better for teeth than even sugarless gum. I highly recommend it.

Just as good as other cinnamon gum, October 5, 2006
By Kathleen E. Pyne
In addition to being better for your teeth, I think this gum has just as good of flavor as any of the cinnamon gums. I enjoy it and so do my kids.

Gum that’s good for you!, September 4, 2007
By M. Marano “MM” (California)
Our dentist recommended that we chew this gum 3 times a day after each meal because the xylitol kills the bacteria that causes cavities. It’s tasty though it doesn’t hold it’s flavor for a long time - not a big deal. I would definitely recommend.

Best Gum, April 27, 2007
By Taylor (Minnesota)
This is my favorite gum. I suffered terribly from aspartame poisoning and it was good to find a gum that I could still chew. Beware consumers - aspartame is in almost all gum - gum does not need to be sugar free to contain aspartame. If you want to have good gum and still be healthy - this is a great gum.

My choice of gum these days because it has no sugar and, unlike other sugar-free gums, no carcinogens.

One Happy Customer!, August 26, 2006
By N. Stenlund “COMPY NERDO” (MA, USA)
I won’t repeat what the last reviewer wrote, I would simply like to say that this gum WORKS! It makes my teeth feel really clean for hours even without brushing! You know that feeling when you REALLY need to brush your teeth, because your teeth are kinda aching? Well, this gum eliminates this feeling altogether! One downside is that the sweetness/flavor of the gum runs out pretty quick, much faster than gum made with artificial sweeteners. But, it is fantastic for what it is, a dental gum! Highly recommended!!!!

Delicious and Natural, March 26, 2006
By Rebecca Johnson “SeasonedwithLove.com” (Washington State)
After chewing one piece of Spry peppermint gum you may notice your teeth and gums feeling more healthy. Since I’m always looking for natural alternatives to regular processed sugar as an ingredient, this item caught my attention.
Not only does Xylitol not promote tooth decay, it has natural ingredients to decrease plaque formation and adhesion. Xylitol is a naturally occurring 5-carbon sugar alcohol found in many fruits including plums, strawberries and raspberries. Our bodies actual produce about 11g of Xylitol a day.
It can be commercially manufactured from “xylan hemicellulose” sources such as Birch trees in Finland. Some Xylitol products are also made from corn.
This product is made with a Xylitol, gum base, natural flavors, glycerin, gum Arabic, soy lecithin and beesewax.
Xylitol actually has been proven to:
Reduce Tooth Decay
Prevent Cavities by inhibiting the growth of bacteria
Inhibits the growth of a related species, Streptococcus pneumoniae, which is a cause of ear infections
Reduce the secretion of Plaque Acids
Facilitate the Remineralization of Tooth Enamel
What more could we ask for from a gum? This gum is a natural defense system and you will start to notice the results. Unlike other sugary gums, this will reduce cavities and it is just as flavorful, if not more so than most gums.

Spry Oral Rinse contains xylitol.
“Xylitol is a “toothfriendly” sugar substitute. In addition to not encouraging tooth decay (by replacing dietary sugars), xylitol may actively aid in repairing minor cavities caused by dental caries.” quote fromWikipedia the online encyclopedia.

WOW!! Great product!, October 7, 2007
By Juanita Mcmullan (Northwest, AR USA)
I bought Spry gum for my 2 yr old grandson. It was xylitol or $2400 worth of dental surgery. He has been on xylitol products now for 2 and 1/2 months along with other remineralizing products, and has shown marked improvement in his speech development and eating. Plus several of the smaller cavities have disappeared and the larger ones are smaller.
In the beginning we gave him too much xylitol, he got diarrhea, so we cut back and the diarrhea ceased. But he’s back to eating, chewing, drinking xylitol, and no problems of any kind so far, not even a reoccurrence of the diarrhea.
Spry is great and worth buying.

Tasty and good for you too!, September 4, 2007
By M. Marano “MM” (California)
My husband wanted to get this flavor, I was a little skeptical but it tastes good! Like Juicyfruit. Our dentist recommended that we get this gum, especially for my husband who has a lot of cavities because the xylitol kills the bacteria in his mouth that causes cavities. He chews it three times a day after each meal. And I like it too! Doesn’t hold it’s flavor for super long but it’s not good for my jaw to chew that long anyway so it works out.

Very sweet, January 3, 2007
By Shannon Hully (Saginaw, MI, USA)
This gum is good but I got sick of it after a while, it’s just a bit too sweet for me. However, that said, it’s perfect for the children. My daughter religiously asks for it after every meal and after she brushes her teeth! How many products that are good for their tooth health do kids actually ask for??

2 boys under 10 love it, October 5, 2005
By Erika Erdman
My review of the literature suggested xylitol gum to reduce or prevent ear infections. My son had several ear infections after bouts with allergies and one dose of penicillin for the infection nearly landed him in the hospital due to a severe allergic reaction.
My choice is to be proactive and reduce the bacteria in the mouth that migrates and causes ear infections. The gum tastes great and he hasn’t had an ear infection since. WE bought him the toothpaste too and he brushes all the time with it.

Non-minty mints, January 3, 2007
By Shannon Hully (Saginaw, MI, USA)
I know when I hear the word “mint” I have expectations of mint flavour so I didn’t know what to expect from these. There is NO mint flavour, only raspberry flavour. They’re delicious!

Yum!, January 14, 2006
By Sunny “We are the music makers. We are the dr…
Well, I’m not sure yet about the advantages of xylitol for your teeth, since I just got my mints today, but I can tell you that it sure tastes great! These are the berry flavored mints, so they’re not really mints at all, but wonderful little candies. They are terribly yummy and their texture is superb! I definitely recommend these! If they really do help with my cavities, I will call them a miracle!
Xylitol benefits, February 25, 2006
By J. Longfellow “dino” (IL)
I have been using these mints instead of other sugarless products mainly due to their benefits related to oral health. I have read over the years that xylitol does not promote bacterial growth in the mouth hence, helps prevent tartar, plaque and decay. The other anecdotal benefit–which I believe has benefitted me–is the positive effect that it has upon ear/nose/throat infections. In conjunction with my taking quercetin, I have not had any ear/throat/sinus infections the past 3 years, whereas before, I often had problems. These mints are part of a regimen that I use–xylitol toothpaste, xylitol mouthwash, xylitol nasal spray, xylitol gum and at times xylitol for sweetening.
